  • Drive-through ATM facility for customers.
  • Shared parking for the community during the non-business hours.
  • A drop-off mail box, for customer convenience (subject to approval of the U.S. Post Office).
  • New sidewalks, streetscape and other pedestrian enhancements, to facilitate improvements at the Lee Hwy/George Mason.

Highlight: Arlington County is also planning a new west-bound turn lane from Lee Highway onto George Mason (also providing improved access to the hospital on George Mason Drive); work on this will begin in spring 2006.

Background: The site has a long history of housing restaurants over the years. Prior to the Friendly's Restaurant, the site had been developed with a Tops drive-In restaurant, a Gino’s fast-food restaurant, a Hardees restaurant and a Roy Rogers fast-food restaurant.
