Just the Facts:

  • The expansion of Village of Shirlington will be opening this Fall. Phase II is structured as a public-private partnership between Arlington County and Federal Realty Investment Trust for the expansion of the modern, mixed-use “urban village” and entertainment center created in Phase I.
  • The combined new homes of the Shirlington Public Library and the Signature Theatre are the focal point for all new development. Signature's first production in the new space will be Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" in January 2007. For their complete 2006 - 2007 season, click here.   • The plaza will be open to the public when the Library opens and will host festivals, concers and other public events.
  • Construction begins this Fall on Randolph Square, office building and parking garage, adjacent to the Plaza.
