Just the Facts:
- Located in Crystal City, the multi use project, originally called Airport
Plaza III, includes long-term / short-term residential units and retail. The
site plan for this 18-story project was originally approved in 1981.
- The building is designed by Studios Architects to maximize the available FAR and height restricted by zoning and the FAA. In response to the Arlington County Site Plan
agenda, the building is located at the edge of the street, gradually stepping back to allow light into the streets of Crystal City.
- The facade features generous amounts of glass, providing residents with an
uninterrupted view of the airport and Potomac River. Buff-colored brick
spandrels are
used to add texture to the pre cast concrete of the surrounding
buildings.
- A four-story 700 car parking garage is located beneath the complex.
- The next phase of this project, called Airport Plaza IV, will include an additional 200 residential units. Situated between the
two residential buildings will be a multi-level outdoor plaza with landscaping, a fitness facility, and a pool that cascades up to the roof of the ballroom. There will
be an additional 400 parking spaces.
