Arlington understands that a strong link between workforce strategies and business strategies must exist in order to take advantage of potential economic growth
arising from BRAC 2005 decisions. The BRAC Transition Center will serve as the hub of activity for workers and businesses seeking assistance to navigate the BRAC
process. Its purpose is to serve as a type of “one-stop” for information, resources, worker services, business assistance, references, and networking for workers and
businesses directly and indirectly affected by BRAC decisions. It will provide a range of services from career counseling to starting a business, creating a powerful
synergy of economic endeavor.
The Center staff includes workforce development experts, economic development experts, and BizLaunch representatives working collaboratively to service the needs
of affected workers and businesses. On a rotational basis, the Center will host community partners such as educational institutions, staffing agencies, professional
associations, SBA, security clearance experts, CARE representatives, federal procurement representatives, and telework representatives to hold symposiums, brown bags,
and trainings for interested workers and businesses. A schedule of activities will be available on this website and in the Center.
