Just the Facts

  • This project represents the first hotels to be built in Crystal City in 20 years.

  • It’s anticipated the two hotels will be LEED certified “green buildings” when complete – the first hotels of such distinction in Arlington County.

  • As part of its LEED certified design, the property will feature a “green roof” that will save energy while providing a respite planted with plants and trees for guests to enjoy. The project’s owner and developer, The JBG Companies, donated over 50 trees for Arlington County to plant in its parks.

  • Together, The Renaissance Crystal City Potomac Yards Hotel and the Residence Inn Crystal City Potomac Yards will offer 625 new rooms to Arlington County with 10,000 square feet of meeting rooms to satisfy the rising demand for conference space.

  • The hotels will include 10,000 square feet of retail space and 500 parking spaces.

  • The 13 story full service Renaissance, to be located on the northern end of the project, will feature an expansive lobby, restaurant, branded coffee shop and an amenity floor with a 10,000 square foot grand ballroom and 10,000 square feet of meeting rooms.

  • The Renaissance’s large glass façade along Potomac Avenue will provide picturesque views of the Capitol and the Potomac River.

  • Renaissance Hotels and Resorts is an upscale Marriott brand that operates in 140 properties in 28 countries.

  • Marriott’s popular extended stay brand, The Renaissance Inn, will be located on the property’s south end housing 325 rooms that will each include kitchens equipped with refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, silverware and dishware.

  • The Inn’s lobby has been designed for unique identification by its large tower which will be at the corner of Potomac Avenue and 29th Street.

  • The lobby will also include a lounge, business center and an outdoor hearth that will be centrally located in the park at Potomac Yards.

  • Residence Inn offers more than 550 hotels in 47 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Mexico.

  • The project will create 500 jobs.
